β-Caryophyllene is a naturally occurring sesquiterpene found in black pepper, cloves, rosemary, and various other plants. This material is a high-purity β-caryophyllene extracted and refined from cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) using a proprietary technology based on Patent No. 7666803(JP). Conventional clove essential oil contains not only β-caryophyllene but also eugenol and methyl eugenol. Eugenol has an extremely low odor threshold, meaning that even trace amounts can significantly influence the fragrance profile of the final product. Methyl eugenol is also a substance regulated under the standards established by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). This material has been refined to minimize these impurities to the greatest extent possible, resulting in a high-quality, highly compliant functional ingredient with a standard β-caryophyllene purity of 95% or higher.
